Remembering Isse Abdi

Dear Action Asia Friends,
Many of you remember Isse Abdi Isse who attended last year's Action
Asia Peace Builder's Fourm as an Africa representative. Isse was
killed in Mogadishu last Thursday.
Action Asia will be sending
our heartfelt condolences to his wives and chidlren, and to our
colleagues in our sister network COPA.
Below is the letter we
received from his organisation in Somalia.
We honour Isse and the
difficult work he was doing to build peace in Kisima.

Dear All,
The management, staff and
volunteers of Kisima Peace and Development Organization all CSO and
CBO in Somalia hereby strongly condemning the cowardly barbarian
killing late Mr. Isse Abdi Isse in Mogadishu on Thursday, March
14th, 2007.
The victim, Mr. Isse is
remembered for his tireless work of defending the right of the
defenseless for the last one and half decades. Mr. Isse left 2
widdows 3 daughters and 1 son. The late victim always used his high
voice under any condition to care the suffering of the silent
majority as well as victims of particular targeting for particular
motives.
All the people mentioned
above are united for their great concern of the increasing violence
which Somali society intellectuals are targeted by the enemies of
the peace.
We appeal the TFG,
International community and all Somalis to unite for the defeat of
those with out conscious blood suckers until one day they are forced
to come out of their hidings to face the law.
The Kisima Organization
strengthened by the national/international accelerate what the
organization had been doing.
We use this opportunity to
thank all those individuals, groups and organizations world wide who
sent their condolences to Kisima and the family of late Mr. Isse.
